October 23 is coming up, which only means one thing – what’s grown into the Fallout version of May the fourth. It’s the anniversary of series’ world getting a nuclear makeover on that fateful day in 2077, and for the first time, Bethesda’s commemorating the occasion with a broadcast that’ll feature both developers and community folks. While this date’s long been a time when Fallout fans post cool stuff and do a bit of ‘wink, wink, nudge, nudge, have you checked the calendar?’-ing it makes sense for the series’ developers to being joining in a bit more this year, given how much Fallout’s profile’s been boosted in the aftermath of the TV show.To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Manage cookie settings “Fallout Day is coming on October 23 where we will be hosting our first ever …

Read moreBorderlands hasn’t even been in cinemas for a month, and Lionsgate has already confirmed that it’s getting a digital release this week. The Borderlands movie is not what I, or anyone else I think, would call good. I would call it very bad in fact, I did so in my review of the film, and unsurprisingly, the video game adaptation went on to bomb at the box office, opening with $16 million on a $115 million budget, which is, to put it bluntly, abysmal. Clearly this result didn’t best please Lionsgate either, as yesterday the production company announced that the premium video and on-demand release of the film will be coming later this week, August 30. As a reminder, the film only came out on August 9, meaning it’s available digitally just three weeks after it was released. To see this content pl…
Read moreSometimes you just can’t predict whether a game will be the next big thing, so it’s not worth kicking yourself if you get that call wrong. Or at least that seems to be the philosophy of Xbox boss Phil Spencer, who says that he doesn’t regret not making the original Destiny and Guitar Hero platform exclusives, even if those calls look a bit questionable in hindsight.Speaking as part of an interview at PAX West called Story Time with Phil Spencer – seems like that name should maybe have been saved in case Xbox ever made its own children’s TV show, but I digress – the exec discussed some of the ones that got away because he didn’t quite get them right away.To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Manage cookie settings “There are so many mixed em…

Well, assuming these are genuine, a mobile strategy game starring the likes of Kiryu, Majima, and Ichiban Kasuga with some pretty meme-worthy artwork. If you’re out of the loop, people are assuming this game to be what a SEGA trademark filed back in July for something called “Yakuza Wars” – with the listing offering no inkling as to what that could mean – was all about. Though, as of writing, there’s no official announcement of that being the case or not.To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Manage cookie settings A Facebook page claiming to be for “Yakuza Wars” has been spotted, with it suggesting that the game is an offici…

Read moreThe first trailer for the latest iteration of The Office is here, this time being an Australian version and it looks… not great.Look, we all know that the US version of The Office is an incredibly popular TV series, massively outdoing the British original, but I’ll be perfectly honest, I didn’t know how often it had been remade. Outside of the UK original and American versions, there have been 12 different takes on The Office, including ones from Canada, Germany, India, and Poland. And soon, that number is going to go up to 15 in total, as an Australian remake of the series is coming out next month, with Prime Video dropping the first trailer for the mockumentary yesterday. There’s just one slight problem, which is that it is one of the most painfully unfunny things I’ve seen in a g…
Read moreParamount has put out a new trailer for Gladiator 2, and it might be a bit more welcoming to those who don’t like to mix new with old. When the first trailer for Gladiator 2 released back in July, I couldn’t help but laugh a little bit at the fact it used Kanye West and Jay-Z’s No Church In The Wild. Clearly some executive said “we just gotta put it a big song people recognise”, and that’s what they landed on/ could get the rights to. Silliness aside, it did at least look like one of those blockbusters of old, before the days of Marvel, and now yesterday Paramount released the film’s second trailer which feels a bit more tonally appropriate, even if it does now have some screaming, bloody apes that will probably give me nightmares. Oh, and, it should come with a bit of a spoiler warning, as…
Read moreOops, looks like it’s spoiler season for the Silent Hill 2 remake, as some players seem to already have copies of the game. What’s the rules on spoilers when it comes to remakes of games that have been out for decades at this point? If you ask me, I think a little bit of courtesy is nice as for a lot of people this will be the first time they’re experiencing the game – it’s kind of like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, where pretty much everyone knows that One Big Spoiler, but we all talked about it generally vaguely for fear of spoiling it for someone who somehow didn’t know. And now we’re here again, this time with the Silent Hill 2 remake, where I’m having to warn you about spoilers, as it looks like at least a few players have gotten their copies of the game (very) early. To see this content plea…
